This feature is exclusively available to users in the PRO plan. It transforms raw customer reviews into clear, structured insights generated by AI — helping merchants and shoppers quickly understand what matters most.

AI Summary analyzes reviews and generates concise summaries that highlight the most relevant insights.

Depending on the widget being used, EchoBrain applies different logic to ensure summaries are accurate, scalable, and meaningful.

The AI Summary feature works across two widgets:

• General Review Widget
• Review Widget (Product-specific)

Each widget uses AI Summary in a different way.

2. AI Summary in the Review Widget (Product-level)

When using the Review Widget, AI Summary focuses on a single product.

How it works:

EchoBrain collects all reviews for a specific product

The AI analyzes:

• Review content
• Ratings
• Common themes and patterns

A dedicated AI Product Summary is generated for that product

This summary highlights key insights such as:

• Fit
• Comfort
• Quality
• Value
• Other recurring topics detected by AI

Each product gets its own AI Summary, updated as new reviews arrive.

3. AI Summary in the General Review Widget (Store-level)

The General Review Widget provides a higher-level overview of the entire store.

Instead of reprocessing all raw reviews again, EchoBrain uses a smarter approach.

How it works:

EchoBrain gathers:

• AI summaries from individual products
• General store reviews (not tied to a specific product)

The AI evaluates this data together

A single AI Store Summary is generated

This results in a fast, scalable summary that reflects the overall customer experience across the store.

Common insights include:

• Product quality
• Shipping experience
• Customer service
• Overall satisfaction

4. Review Categorization & Tagging

As part of the AI Summary process, EchoBrain also:

• Categorizes reviews by detected topics
• Generates tags (e.g. Fit, Shipping, Service, Comfort)
• Uses these tags to enrich summaries and UI components

This makes insights easier to understand and visually consistent across widgets.

5. Preventing Duplicate AI Processing

To ensure efficiency and avoid reprocessing the same data, EchoBrain tracks AI-processed reviews using an internal state:

• Each review includes a reviewed_by_ai flag
• Once processed:
  • The review is excluded from future AI runs
  • Only new or unprocessed reviews are analyzed next time

This guarantees:

• Faster AI execution
• Consistent summaries
• No duplicated insights

6. Transparency and Responsible Data Usage

AI Summary is fully automated and designed with data transparency and privacy in mind.

When generating AI summaries, EchoBrain:

• Uses review content and store data strictly as contextual input to generate summaries
• Does not use customer or merchant data to train AI models
• Does not store review content for AI training purposes
• Processes data only at the moment of summary generation

All review data remains owned by you and is used solely to provide the AI Summary functionality. EchoBrain’s AI enhances insights — without compromising privacy or data ownership.

7. Enabling AI Summary and How It Works

AI Summary can be enabled per widget and is designed to work efficiently by processing only relevant, published data.

How to Enable AI Summary

For both widgets, activation follows the same flow:

• Go to Widgets
• Select a widget (General Review Widget or Review Widget)
• Enable “Show AI review summary”

Once enabled:

• The AI Summary feature runs immediately to generate the first AI-powered summary
• Only published reviews are considered during processing

This ensures that each widget starts with an up-to-date summary as soon as it is activated.

Common Processing Rules

Regardless of the widget type:

• Only reviews with publish = true are used
• Unpublished reviews are ignored
• Reviews already processed by AI are skipped to avoid duplication

Widget-Specific Processing Logic

Review Widget (Product-level Summary)

The Review Widget generates AI summaries at the product level.

• When a new published review is detected for any product:
  • A background task is scheduled to run within the next 24 hours
• This delay allows EchoBrain to:
  • Group reviews by product
  • Process batches of reviews instead of individual entries
  • Reduce unnecessary AI executions

Only reviews related to specific products are used to generate or update the AI summary for that product.

General Review Widget (Store-level Summary)

The General Review Widget generates a store-wide AI summary.

• When a product AI summary is generated or updated:
  • A background task is scheduled to run within 10 minutes
• This shorter interval is possible because:
  • Product-level reviews are already summarized
  • The AI combines:
    • Product AI summaries
    • General store reviews

The result is a concise, high-level overview of the entire store’s feedback.
